Progress of the men’s health examination
You can book an appointment at the Mehiläinen location of your liking.
Visit the laboratory at least five days before the nurse's appointment. You can visit the laboratory at any time of the day. The tests do not require any preparations, so you can eat and drink normally. A referral for laboratory tests is automatically generated when an appointment is made.
Before the nurse's appointment, fill in the patient information form provided.
At the nurse's appointment, a nurse will review the results of the laboratory tests, the data on the patient information form and take the necessary measurements. In addition, you will receive a personal plan for looking after your health.
The price of the men's health examination is EUR 124.
You can pay for the men's health examination with a debit or a credit card or a gift card.

Laboratory tests included in the health examination
You can eat and drink normally before the laboratory tests.
You do not need to book an appointment for the tests.
The CRP test is used to investigate inflammation. C-reactive protein, or CRP, is a protein produced by liver cells, the amount of which increases rapidly in the body in many types of bacterial infections, such as pneumonia, and tissue damage, such as myocardial infarction.
Creatine (P-Krea) indicates the functioning of the kidneys. Creatine is analysed to study the functioning of kidneys and to monitor any diseases that affect the kidneys, such as diabetes, inflammations or hypertension.
Basic blood count (PVK+T) is an important basic laboratory test that provides a variety of ways to analyse the condition of the body. The basic blood count test can be used to detect various disorders of the body, such as haemorrhages, inflammations, haematopoietic disorders in the bone marrow and a range of issues with nutrition or absorption.
The glycated haemoglobin (P-HbA1C) test is an indicator of blood glucose level over the previous weeks/months. This often rises even before the actual onset of diabetes, which allows for preventing the onset by changing lifestyles.
The levels of liver enzymes (P-ALAT and P-GT) are analysed to study the use of medicines and alcohol, risk of fatty liver disease and overall liver function.
The analysis of blood fat levels (P-Lipidit) includes total, HDL, LDL, and non-HDL cholesterol levels as well as triglycerides. Blood fat levels are important risk indicators for cardiovascular diseases. Blood fat levels are influenced by both genetic and environmental factors such as diet, exercise and smoking.
